Lister CS stuff, freeing fuel pumps, spares etc

Hi all, I have recently bought a Lister CS 3/1

and the fuel pump is seized, I have it soaking in a bath of diesel at the moment. Is there anything else I can do to help it along? I was wondering if a bit of heat might help? Also I believe, (from oldengine), that it is the wrong pump for the

3/1, it is a BPF1B70CS and the 3/1 should have a 60CS. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the pump size 6 & 7mm. Is this a major problem? The injector might be beyond repair, a pic of the nozzle is here -

- is it any good? I would like to strip the injector and pump down, anyone know of a sectioned photo or drawing anywhere, I cant remember finding one at oldengine.org. cheers, Simon

I have been sent 2 nice pdf files which have helped enormously, I was after an assembled section so I know the order of bits inside, turns out the injector is very simple, hard to get wrong. Anyone know if 'normal' diesel specialists can test our injectors for opening pressure, after stripping down I'll have to get the pressure set up again. Thinking out aloud, the pump delivering too much shouldnt be a problem as surely the governor will be able to just deliver less?

It's not quite as simple as that, as the helix may be different on the element and could even be a reverse helix which means your governor would have no control.

If you look for the pump details it should be fairly easy to check from whence it came, probably a 5/1 pump although there were plenty of other engines that used that size of element.

Most diesel repair shops with the old-fashioned kit can test the injector, the pump needs a jig to fit onto the Hartridge test stand.

Thanks for your replies, the pump is now free and without obvious wear, it dates to 1965 from the number on it, engine is a 1937 model. I'll be getting a new nozzle for the injector and take it to a local injector specialist in town. Simon.
