OT - Facebook warning

I don't normally do this, but I rely 100% on the source & he says this ......

"We've been making a lot of money this week. "

If you get a Facebook message from an unknown friend with a link to a photo they think you are in.

DON'T CLICK ON IT.

Unless of course I cover your support in which case click away.

We've had 30 or so infections caused by the same link this week.

Regards,

Kim Siddorn

"infections"? Out of interest, is this something that only effects those cursed by Microsoft?

Unless I know the person, it gets deleted anyway, regardless.

I'm actually somebody who has not enough time to do stuff in the real world let alone spend my time at my computer telling others what I didn't do, is there a medal for that :-))

You're not missing much, most of the people on there seem to have a LOT of time on their hands to chat with others in a similar position.

You could spend your time more fruitfully blogging and twittering, about what you did do. Takes less time than telling us what you did not do. Medals are then involved.

Pete,

You just don't get it, why do I want to talk to a "friend" I have never met and unlikely to ever want to meet and talk about what I do and don't do by the minute of everyday just because somebody has written a piece of software that lets you do it. I speak to all my friends, real ones that is, when the need arises. I get out lots, I'm well read, and all is well with the world, what more could I want in life besides being told to get a life, which I add I have otherwise I would be six feet under pushing up daisies and speaking to you via a medium. For all I know I might even be doing it now :-))

Agreed there...

That's where I find it useful - keeping "sort-of" in touch with people that I've met and hope to see again sometime, but where there's never enough free time to actually see them or to pick up the phone* and talk to everyone individually. One of the perils of having moved around a lot is that I know people all over the darn place!

  • although I hate phones. Email's good. In-person's good. Phones are just horrible :-)

cheers

Jules,

I couldn't agree more but I still don't see the point of Twittering, blogging or anything else of that nature. A phone call or an email is all that is needed and that's the point I'm trying to make.

I'm tired, my wife and I have been to the Derbyshire Vales today to collect an engine and pump base for lister parts, my wife suffers among other things from blood circulation problems which means I stay cool but her extremities freeze so I turn it off and I get all hot and bothered.

Sorry for the delay in replying - I fell asleep.

A bit of description can make a photo come to life . Pity your engine photos are just a boring collection of non-descript illustrations.

Up and running again ! Regards Pete (where did you say you were again? )

You're wasting your words WRT this particular top poster! There's some sort of catholic dogma at work here - ''the cursor lands where it lands and screw everyone else.'' Thread after thread is made so difficult to follow by this guy's puerile pigheadedness.

Would suggest otherwise. Has your Caps Lock button got stuck down by any chance?

I must admit I don't get the twitter thing at all. Blogging has its uses I think - *if* the person has something genuinely useful to say. Sadly the vast majority of blogs are full of opinionated crap rather than anything genuinely interesting. It's left me with quite a dislike of the word itself, yet of course informative sites with the same 'blog' style existed long before the word was coined, and continued to exist now.

p.s. the top-posting is quite annoying. Just hit crtl-end or whatever before you start typing; it's only an extra couple of keystrokes :-)

cheers
