Ping - Rob Frazer

Rob,

My 17 year old son is evolving as a motor head. He has an engine concept in his mind that he's just dying to discuss with somebody.

I was telling him about you.

Would you be willing to email me?

Because of spam I've had to all but abandon the email address associated with my own web page. But I will be looking for an email from you. Please send it to vtuck at tucklings dot com. If you write to me there I will respond from another address.

Thanks!

Vernon

Hey Vern, Sorry to top-post but your E-mail is getting kicked back at me.. I'd be more than glad to offer up any help at all. Not a problem one bit. I will be out of town starting Wed. night so sooner would be better than later. Try my email at FraserRacing "at" RobFraser.net I'll check it as much as possible. Inspire him as much as possible and for God's sake, Please tell me it's Detroit iron, not a rice-burner...... Well, I'm just a little partial to passing the right torch on to the kids.

All the best,

Rob

Don't mean to butt in but I had the same problem with the email link on my site and found an easy cure. If you don't mind putting a very simple script on your site I can give you one that will hide your email address from bots but keep it as an easy and convenient link.

Check out

formatting link
If you hover over the "Click here to send us a message" link you'll see a proper email address show up at the bottom of the browser in the status bar and clicking on the link will bring up your email client with the correct address.

But if you search the source you won't find it because it's broken up into several small pieces and assembled by the script. Since I didn't want to change that email address it took awhile for the spam to drop off but it was very effective and it would be even better if you used a completely new email address that hasn't been spammed before.

Here's the script and you can view the source of the above page to see how it's used:

The variables can be renamed to anything you want but there's no real reason to other than personal preference. The "document.write" statement just tacks them all together into a string containing the full email address. You can change the "Click here to send us a message" comment to anything you want too.

A kid could do worse than emulate the thinking that went into desinging and building Honda engines. I don't think an American builder has had an in-house designed race specific engine do well in any type of motorsports in a while.

And there are more XXX-burners than just American and Japanese stuff. There're pasta-burners, beer-burners, crepe burners, kippered herring-burners, etc... Not that I have anything against Americal motors. I myself pulled out the lutfisk-burner out of my car and installed a burger-burner.
