Now there's a good idea. Is the Fowler tender version a post-Bachmann introduction, or did it start in the Dorset factory? I would've thought it was an easy way to offer a new model using existing tools with minimal extra outlay - 8F loco + Crab/4F tender, presumably. Or does it use a brand-new tooling for the tender?

On the Bachmann website it has been listed as 'imminent' for some time. I have no idea how long imminent is supposed to be in the Bachmann time scale.

I wouldnt mind - I always take Bachmann delivery schedules with a pinch of salt, factor in the weather in the South China Sea, that sort of thing ;)

I have to admit the Jinty is taking a while.....

Next year I am going to save my money and not waste it on Bachmann fiction.I don't know why they bother with a catalogue.

But if you don't buy their 2005 catalogue, you'll not know what they are going to produce in 2006! ;-)

Hornby are just as bad. If you look at their 2004 catalogue there are a number os items which will not be released until 2005.

i@d much rather the catalogue listed those items which were going to be produced in 2004 (and which quarter - Hornby are not too bad at predicting that!) plus maybe a section at the end for products which are to be introduced at some unsepcified later date (2005 or 6 or whatever). That way I could still see what was coming, but make sure I didnt have to save my pennies for too long!

Presumably you've spent the monies you saved for the Lima V2, Jouef A3, Replica 28xx, Wrenn 45xx etc. Things not appearing on time is nothing new, just hope they turn up eventually unlike the above.

Assuming you have Internet access (!!!), you could save money on buying a catalogue by simply browsing their website, which has all the info contained in their catalogue and even gets update! ;o)

To be fair to Hornby, their reasons for non-delivery this year are unfortunate. I was wondering if Hornby could employ Bachmann's draughtsman, he is wasting his time there. All I want from Bachmann is a B1, not much to ask considering it isn't even new.
