Browsing through a railway magazine in WHS, I saw an article on Carnforth. It referred to having the only existing coaling plant. I thought it had been demolished. Am I wrong.

You are wrong, although it's crumbling away slowly because it's listed but unsafe to work on, as far as I know. ;o)
Cheers, John.
Google gives quite a few hits. The Coaling plant and ash plant are still there at Carnforth, I suspect they are listed. I don't think they are the only ones - I think there is at least another Coaling plant over in Immingham. Mike.
