Mainline class 56 buffer

Oct 15, 2005 6 Replies

I have a Mainline class 56 which has a missing buffer. I have found it impossible to locate a spare in Australia and I don't want to have to place a minimum order with one of the UK-based spares specialists just for the sake of this one item, even assuming that the current Hornby model has the same fitting.

Has anyone out there got one spare class 56 buffer (oval head with a square spigot at the base of the shank)?

Thanks in anticipation.

For your information the buffers fitted to the Hornby class 56 are identical with those on the Dapol model.

Thanks John, I guessed they might be. You haven't got one lying around the shop by any chance? :-)

Not sure, I'll take a look.

Problem now resolved with grateful thanks to John Turner of 53A Models in Hull.

This'll give you the chance to use one of those "overseas airmail rate to Australia" stamps featuring England (and Wales) winning the Ashes.

LOL - I wish, but our local Post Office frank mail posted there and don't normally use Royal Mail stamps. :-)
