Salvé If the Q1 is the ugliest then what is a) the most Elegant and B) the most beautiful?
A) Any Spinner, B I havent made my mind up yet but standard guage it might just be a Terrier.

No, they look a miss-match, a loco should either have a 'air smoothing' casing (read air smoothed or streamlined) or have normal cladding, to my mind it's would have to be the LNER A4.

A. Definitely a std class 4MT, 2-6-4. Not the Fairbairn, it's proportions look wrong to me. B. Probably a streamlined something or other.
Great Central atlantics - probably in both categories.

having reminded myself of what they looked like - agree (I'm something of a sucker for all of Conner's designs, with the exception only of the
8'2" singles. The 0-4-2s, particularly, looked proper little delights..).I'd also put in a call for Bouch's last design of 4-4-0s for the Stockton and Darlington - Jinx's babies. They might not have worked well, but they were pretty things.
Kilmarnock for the first two (Glasgow & South Western), Glasgow for the Connor beastie (Caledonian Railway).
Lol! Erm, not a lot - I've already got a reputation as a mad person so I don't suppose it'd do me any harm!
