Re-naming the Bachman Hall

The principal differences within the Hall Class as built are: (1) Fire iron tunnel on LHS: Not fitted: 4900-99, 5900-20 Fitted to: 5921-99, 6900-58 (2) Cabside handrails: Single horizontal: 4900-99, 5900-20 Separate horizontal and vertical: 5921-75 Single "L shaped": 5976-99, 6900-58 (3) Low pitched boiler: 4900 (4) A few engines at various times later acquired Grange type chimneys and/or modified Hall type boilers. I don't have detailed records of these. And of course there was some variation in tenders which were typically changed every couple of years.

I am not sure if handrail and fireiron features were changed during overhauls. I have not found any evidence yet.

The Bachmann model of 5960 (and I expect the other two as well when they eventually arrive ?) has a single horizontal cabside handrail and a fireiron tunnel so is not actually representative of any engine as built ! Strange since I am fairly confident that the original prototype models displayed last year by Bachmann didn't have any fireiron tunnel ? For the fastiduous it should not be too difficult to add/modify the cab handrails for one of the later engines from 5921 onwards. Removing the fireiron tunnel will be next to impossible without major surgery.

these are two names I would like to re-name my bachman Lined Black Hall, the new one.

Anyone know where I can check to see if they are roughly the right type of hall and if they were ever done in lined black?
