We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember The Natural Philosopher saying something like:

>What Ho grimly...didn';t expect to see YOU in this Xposting...

Hello, NP. The tosser's posted it all over usenet by the look of it.

I can understand his revulsion at the cat and dogskin trade that's carried on in China, but it's old news. They've been doing it for years and will carry on doing it as long as there's a buck to be made. Couple of years ago I saw a German-made docu about it shown on telly here (Ireland) and it was pretty repulsive, but I didn't feel the need to rush out and spam every ng I could find.

Anyway, what would the Koreans eat?

Indeed it is.

First World War fighter pilots' goggles were made from dogskin. The best came from Nuchwang, China.[1]

So the prick is only, oh, 90 years late.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember snipped-for-privacy@dsl.pipex.com (The Older Gentleman) saying something like:

That's ruff.

You'll be collared if you make any more leading comments like that.

I've heard this tail before, and you're both barking if you believe it.

Was that why they called it 'dog-fighting'?.....(ouch, that hurt!)

I don't think that his point is that dog fur is being 'harvested', more the utterly inhumane way it's being stripped; from live dogs. It's a horrible piece of film.

Then why did you watch it?

"Alan Holmes" wrote

How would he know it was horrible if he hadn't watched it?

John.

Because whilst it was utterly repellant it was also important (to me) that I watched it. I've managed to ignore the fur trade and consider Peta as a bunch of extremists in the past. This film may just have changed my mind.

Salvé At the risk of being heavy.... PETA encourage and actively support terrorism in support of "animal rights" as far as they are concerned anyone owning a pet (amongst other things)is as guilty of "crime" as these uneducated chinese, who believe that flaying a live dog produces a better hide , personally I am all for animals being treated decently " humanely" if you will, but I dont believe that anyone has the right (As PETA claim) to murder or hurt physically or mentally a single human being in support of their political and pseudophilosophical beliefs. I encourage anyone who has any contacts with PETA to sever them before they get dragged into a chain of events that an lead to lenghty prison sentences. Beowulf Penn and Teller on their recent programme series BULLSHIT (!) did a nice exposé of PETA I thoroughly recommend it :) anoyingly funny :)))
