heckmondwike old railway station layout model by Ken York, are you same pictures ?Alberto.

If I remember Correctly The S4 London Group Lead by Ken York, model only resembles Heckmondwike in name

It's the name, isn't it? My dad used to say of something really odd that 'it made as much sense as a Heckmondwike pie'.

Never heard of Heckmondwike Pie and I have lived near Cleckhuderfax For Meany Years :¬)

In article , Trev writes

Ha! I remember it as "Cleckhuddersfax". Another chap I used know referred to "Cleckheckmondsedge", which presumably is a slightly more localised region.

David (an outlander from Wakefield)

Exactly, hence the expression.

Heckmondwike is known for its blankets and football boots, as worn by Sir Stanley Matthews.

Cleckheckmondsedge ia a name invented by J.B. Priestley to represent a West Riding mill town. [Wiki]

Like his better known Bruddersford.
