Any way to remove canopy scratches?

Jul 01, 2003 7 Replies

Does anyone have any good tips on how to polish, buff, remove minor scratches from the clear plastic canopy material? Thanks in advance!

Most silver polishes, e.g. Silvo, work well.. regards. Alan T

I've not tried it, but there is a technique described in the IMAA High Flight archives about scratched windshields. Volume 4 No. 2. Cheers, Fred McClellan the dash plumber at mindspring dot com

Does it involve using toothpaste as a polishing compound?

Most metal polishes work. I've use 'Brasso.'

Check Aircraft Spruce for some plastic cleaners and polishes.

Thanks for all the great tips guys!

Many years ago a friend of mine used Brasso to polish the scratches from perspex

- might work with plastic.

Just kidding. I used to use a product of the windshild of the full scale Cherokee I owned. I forget the name though.
