Anybody else get the AMA SPAM today?

You'd think the AMA would have better sense, especially in light of the DVDRom fiasco last year. Surely someone in the organization would have thought that SPAMing the members would be a bad idea. *sheesh*

If only my flying club didn't require AMA membership.

*sigh*

Yeah - that's the only reason I have anything to do with those Mutts.

Both you buttheads could drag up in the morning....

You wouldn't be missed, and the AMA would be better for it...

Attitudes like yours contribute nothing, and it's quite obvious neither of you would make a pimple on a real modeler's ass...

Aw, crap.... I fed the trolls..............

Dearest Bill:

F@#$ you and the horse you rode in on.

I consider myself a modeler and am proud of it. I built a Spirit 100 glider from a kit, and am just now finishing up building a Shrike 40 from a kit.

If I want any lip from you I'll scrape it off of my zipper.

Modeler and PROUD of it!

You don't like my philosophy, so you get personal? You have the nerve to call us "buttheads"? Are you an AMA Suckass? Do you have a life. To you I say: Fuck off, Asshole.

Well - if the guy is an AMA officer, then I would have to concede. If he is a member like most of us, then what I said stands.

What spam? What are you talking about? Another DVD? I hate to sound clueless, but I really am. (Not all of us live next to "mecca" - oops, hope I didn't offend anyone, it wasn't a cartoon!)

Does the moderator of this group ever block membership of people who use foul language? Bob Furr

This is an unmoderated group, which explains a lot ;)

Ah, the price of freedom. In order to hear of and learn the best information out there, one must tolerate a few words of less than Sunday School quality.

Millions of folks in the world would gladly tolerate a few foul words in order to have such freedom.

Obviously there is no moderator for this newsgroup. If the individual has a legitimate e-mail address you can refer his postings to abuse@(provider).xxx The case you might have in question could be referred to snipped-for-privacy@aol.com. Just forward the posting to this address.

You may be reading this from a web based forum but this is actually Usenet with no moderators. Let freedom ring, besides I get a chuckle from them sometimes. mk

Does this mean that the more foul we are, the more freedom we have? It isn't necessary for communication...generally. I think it was Oscar Wilde who said that on occasion profanity is acceptable, with some people, it passes for wit.

You should pull the stick out of your ass, Red -- it make you appear stiff.

It appears that for a select few it has to pass for their total mentality (or lack thereof)......

| Millions of folks in the world would gladly tolerate a few foul words in | order to have such freedom.

... and millions of folks in the world have decided that they'd rather not tolerate a few foul words, and have given up that freedom.

{ insert Ben Franklin quote about `essential liberties' here }

Case in point? The rise of the web based forums with their usally iron-fist moderators and the corresponding decline in Usenet usage.

Many people think this moderation is a good thing ... at least until they find themselves to be the ones moderated. Like many things, it cuts both ways.

*shrug*
