Wrong Motor Controller?

Ted shuffled out of his cave and grunted these great (and sometimes not so great) words of knowledge:

You can not use a brushless controller with a brushed motor (or visa - versa).

I am not that familiar with Jeti controllers, but it sounds like you have a 12 amp controller.

If you decide to upgrade the motor, make sure that the motor is not going to be pulling over 12 amps. If you do not have MotoCalc or Electricalc, I suggest getting a copy and play "What If" to determine exactly what you will need.

If you got a 12A brushless controller for $30 hang into it.;-)

Ther are lots of not too exoensive little outrunners that would go well in that plane

It appears to me that you should first talk to Hobby Lobby and allow them to correct the error if that is what happened.

You can pick up an outrunner brushless and brushless controller at Dymond modelsports here in San Diego for a combo price of 69.00 bucks. That motor is equal or greater than the power of a 400 can motor.

I haven't seen any other prices that will beat that. Helmut (the owner) actually has real world knowledge of what you need to set up your craft. Not like these chain stores that don't have a clue when it comes to electric.

You got a great price on the controller. I own a couple of Jeti controllers and their service is quite good. I smoked mine by hooking the battery up backward. I sent it to Jeti for repair. Admitting that I reverse polarized it and they replaced it free of charge. Even though their paper states they won't replace it if you hook it up backwards. They are located in Czech. so it took a few weeks to get it back. It was worth it to me.
