The is new PC/MPI adapter available conected by USB port Are there any difference in comparison to previous RS232 cable? It only works unter Win2000/XP. Does need any additiona driver. Is it visible in windows as a virtual COM port or as pure USB??? What about Step7 software. I use version 5.2.0.0. Is it enough or any updates/service packs are necessary.

Marek, the latest version of STEP7 Professional 2004 (v5.3) works on Win2000 or XP only and the USB MPI adapter is designed for this. The method of connection is completely transparent to the user - you just select "PC Adapter" in the PG/PC Interface and go from there.
All drivers etc. are installed with STEP7. Does this help?
