I couldn't start the first FORD I tried after installing the new lock cylinder. When I cranked the key...there was no sound at all. (and I have a new battery) It was getting dark so I couldn't check the fuse.However, the van has a "Chapman" barrel Lock on it which I don't have the key to. It says "Chapman Insurance Man". Does anyone know what this lock does? Is it a cut off switch for starter? fuel? TIA Dave

I was looking at the keys today. The ignition / door key is definitely a 10 cut key. The key for the glove box and trunk is an 8 cut.
I know you were all losing sleep waiting for this information. :)

I could swear I thought I saw eight cuts the first time. The experienced eye wins.
the FIRST 10 cut cars left the trunk/glove as an 8 cut..
LATER they went to all 10 cut..
8 cut started as ALL 8 cut.. --Shiva--
