I notice (from following the link the actual virus description page) that it works only on various flavors of Windows systems at present. This is a relief for me, at least.

Yes, it apparently uses java scripts to blindly install a DOS .exe file and then get that run. Won't work on any system that won't execute a .exe file, even if it has Java.
