I missed the staff meeting but the minutes show Gunner wrote back on Thu, 30 Dec 2004 08:05:18 GMT in rec.crafts.metalworking :

"Cease Firing! That weapon was intended for use on human beings. Using it on human being is inhumane!" Sargent Snorkel, Beetle Baily, a zillion years ago.

I got into a discussion with the niece, about selling her to the gypsies instead of taking her to school. Wasn't going to work out, she'd have my head sawn open, and the insides run through a blender, fried and then starve the dog so he'd eat it. I said that was cruel - starving the dog was unkind, and deep frying my brains would be bad for his heart. She agreed. Then I pointed out, her mother would beat me to a pulp with my arms, and, worst of all, wouldn't settle for a mere 75% cut, but would take it all. Then where would I be? No arms, beaten to a bloody pulp, and no money to show for it. No percentage for me, so I wasn't going to go through with it. And it was better for the dog, too.
