Slightly OT: Manual for an Onan JC generator?

Hi everyone -

we just acquired a 12.5KW Onan JC series standby power unit - or at least most of the parts of one... Missing the nameplate but it's definitely a JC...

Does anyone have a manual for this? I'd be glad to pay copying/postage charges to save us a bit of time figuring it out using only the neural T&E system...

Thanks in advance

Carla

real email is carla dot fong at verizon dot net dot net dot net

but there's actually only one "dot net" in the address... (Spam harvesters are getting really clever, let's see if that confuses them...)

Congratulations! I am a proud and delighted owner of a DJE generator. Spent a while fixing up minor problems. Now it works flawlessly.

Can you post the pix of your unit?

aircooled 4 cylinder, right?

You absolutely need manuals. check out ebay items 7944791988,

3864670481 (I highly recommend this guy in the latter auction, his name is Al).

I also would suggest that you visit alt.energy.homepower, where there is a bunch of Onan graybeards. Also smokstak.com has a great onan forum. They will tell you everything you need to know. Do not forget to thank them profusely.

The parts manual is a lot of help until you get something better. It at least has mechanical diagrams and parts lists. A pdf is available free at

. Select "Parts Catalog" and then "small systems".

I do not think that she can do without the maintenance manual...

I own one, personally, and it is invaluable.

Respectfully, please go back and read my post to Carla. I made no suggestion that she do without the maintenance manual.
