The reason is simple (for those in the East Coast Audience): how would "you" respond if you're getting shot for making what you consider "sensible" decisions? I keep thinking of the animal handlers at the zoo, who as part of their training, have to figure out what they are suppose to be doing, by listening to the clicks of their classmates.

If they can figure it out.

I have had the flu several times in the past. The worst case was about 30 years ago. I spent five days unconscious in my house, and the heat was out when I got home. The water lines froze. I lost 20 pounds of muscle tissue while I was unconscious, and couldn't walk for almost two months. I had to slide down the stairs, one at a time when I woke, to get to the bathroom. I had just tried to flush the toilet when the first pipe burst. I had to crawl outside to the basement steps, and into the basement where I spent the next two days digging in mud to make repairs, and caught Pneumonia. There was only a few days food in the house when i got sick, and I was fired because I didn't get prior approval to miss work. It took me over six months to recover, and I was still in my 20s.

So, I guess the solution is to have no decendents. I'm sure that they will like that.

Ah, close, but wrong. Freedom isn't forcing him to buy a gun, freedom is him being _allowed to_ buy a gun, if he hasn't done anything which forbids him from doing so.

Merely being a subject, rather than a citizen, isn't a legitimate cause to be denied the basic human right of self-defense against evil people.

It would be more equitable having each individual fight the flu on his own, rather than waste resources having armies fight each other over resources. By stopping the suppression of influenza, everyone could be on the front lines, instead of just a few good men. . .

Ah, that's not how it works. Money is created by granting loans. The Fed. Reserve controls how much money is loaned by controlling short-term interest rates. It works in conjunction with banking laws that regulate reserve requirements.

It's a very remote kind of control, but it works as long as the underlying, deep-down confidence in the economy is high. In other words, it almost always works. If it didn't, no one would have a pot to pee in.

The symptoms of influenza appear suddenly and often include:

• Body aches and muscle pain (often severe), commonly in the back, arms, or legs.
• Headache.
• Pain when you move your eyes.
• Fatigue, a general feeling of sickness (malaise), and loss of appetite.
• A dry cough, runny nose, and dry or sore throat. You may not notice these during the first few days of the illness when other symptoms are more severe. As your fever goes away, these symptoms may become more evident.

Influenza usually does not cause symptoms in the stomach or intestines, such as vomiting and diarrhea.

Other conditions have symptoms similar to the flu, such as the common cold, bacterial infections, and infectious mononucleosis. . .

That's too bad. Soldiers and sailors from everywhere tend to be a rowdy lot when they're away from home. When there's a foreign navy ship in port in NYC, we stay clear of downtown Manhatten for the same reason.
