Colchester 4-jaw Chuck wanted V/Urgently

Jul 06, 2006 4 Replies

Vince up the road has just popped in, he needs a Colchester fitting 4-Jaw chuck to fit a Colchester Bantam lathe, and needs it here for tomorrow sometime.

7"-8" diameter or thereabouts, whatever is available, fitting is Colchester
3-prong type.

I'm going to Burton on Trent in the morning, so will be travelling past John S's place, or what is available?

Sounds like you mean a D1-3 camlock.. He could of just ordered one from J&L if he wanted one to keep, and the cost was not out of the question.

The chipmaster uses the same fitting...

Got a chuck but no spare backplate.

Too late for tomorrow, but I do have a spare D1-3 4-jaw. Only available if you collect this ****** Ward lathe, though

I'll be in touch re the collection, the trailer is hors de combat due to something unforeseen (don't ask!)

What size is the chuck?
