Vince up the road has just popped in, he needs a Colchester fitting 4-Jaw chuck to fit a Colchester Bantam lathe, and needs it here for tomorrow sometime.
7"-8" diameter or thereabouts, whatever is available, fitting is Colchester 3-prong type.I'm going to Burton on Trent in the morning, so will be travelling past John S's place, or what is available?

Sounds like you mean a D1-3 camlock.. He could of just ordered one from J&L if he wanted one to keep, and the cost was not out of the question.
The chipmaster uses the same fitting...
Got a chuck but no spare backplate.
