Magicalia subscriptions (MEW etc)

Well it's a relief that it says that they have no record of my email address despite an exchange of emails over the ill fated plans fiasco

The web site shows my subscription expiring with issue 123. My subscription renewal letter show it expiring with issue 124. I wonder if they considered that many subscribers would keep their renewal letter for reference and the implication of arbitrarily changing the expiry issue number. You have all kept the letter haven't you?

I will probably leave it for now and see if they put it right before complaining.

I started my subscription for both ME and MEW around November 2006

The first issues arrived around the first week in February 2007, I ha no problem with that as I can apreciate it takes a while to get setup.

What I find strange is if I now check out my subscription details i says that ME has 10 issues to go and will end in February 2008 ( whic is correct ) but that my MEW has only 2 issues to go so will end in November . This cant be right as they started , and I received my first issues o the same day.

Lastly can someone confirm that unless I renew my subscription it wil automatically lapse as I dont want to pay these jokers any more

I believe they moved MEW to 12 issues/year (from 10) during the last year, so that may explain the discrepancy in the dates.

Unless you have set up a direct debit to pay the subs annually, yes it will lapse if you don't renew.

Don't forget that the number of annual issues of MEW has increased over the past 2 years. My wife usually buys me a subscription as a christmas present, and this started off running Jan- December.

However, due to the increased number of issues this now expires at the end of October. this year.
