ME Back Issues

Jun 29, 2007 8 Replies

I'm looking for plans and the contructional articles for the Vega 9cc v-twin (Nemett last ME).

I've tracked it down to the flowing copies of ME:

Volume 156 issues:

3768
3770
3772
3774
3776
3778

Magicalia can't provide the back issues and want £7.50 for each double page photocopy. The plans don't appear to be available on their hobbystore website either.

No problem with parting with beer tokens, just not champagne tokens in exchange for beer...

Holy Sheepdip!!! No bloody wonder they were clamping down on the electronic copies. They think they are onto a bloody gold mine!

Wonder how long it'll take them to completely chase away their own customer base?

Cheers Trevor Jones (who pays half that per new issue)

Have you tried your local library, particularly Inter-Library Loan?

I obtained some old ME articles this way (the two referenced in the Duplex drill sharpener piece) and they were quite cheap.

e-bay is another option I got a couple of volumes that I needed for an engine and it cost me about =A36.00 per volume. Just search for "Model Engineer"

Try The Toolbox in Colyton, they have lots of back issues and will post. Cost averages about £1 an issue.

Try Steve Turner Steve [ snipped-for-privacy@btopenworld.com], he's sorted me out with bac issues of ME and EIM at very resasonable prices - usual disclaimer applies. Dave

Thanks Pat. Magicalia came back and revised their offer to £20, but it's still quite a bit when the original mags can be had for less.
