Hmmm...I don't think they had RC in 1930...
And yes, building one small enough and light enough to fly in an enclosed space, under radio control, IS impressive engineering, regardless of how many of the individual ideas may/may not have been thought of before.

Not so sure about that. Can't remember the date but there was an early example that used spark transmitter and coherer receiver. It was flown in a theatre.

Quite possibly as the memory is not what it was! It was an airship as I recall.
