PDF in Pro-E

Hi group. Can someone tell me if Wildfire 2 can write drawings to directly to pdf format? By directly from within a drawing I mean perhaps a save as, & select pdf, & poof, done. Thanks, M.P.

Not directly.

and install their program. It installs as a print driver, so you just select the pdf995 printer as your output device and you have your pdf file.

Thanks, it's a method that doesn't require the reluctant, and heirarchically driven cooperation of sysadmins. It just might work: output looks good, simple technique: just print to the driver and out pops a pdf.

But this is still an extension of a general methodology of producing pdfs from Pro/e: print to a postscript driver in a 'watched' directory, then have Adobe Distiller or a similar utility do the ps2pdf conversion and produce the PDF file. All these are along those lines and don't know any other way:

(FreeDist which uses GhostScript ps2pdf conversion)

BTW, I thought the Distiller route was going to be built into WF2, just an istallation option away!!! Did it make it? WF3 [Sloburn 4? 5?

6?...BarelySmolderingEmber 38?] perhaps? Who knows how long they can drag it out. Up until Wildfire2, they were still carrying the command line interface from tfhe 80s, or at least the ability to implement such mapkeys.

We create PDF files on the fly with WF2. No running distiller, etc, though we do have the print driver installed. Our workstations (Precision 650/670s) we buy with MS Office Basic, and Dell bundles Acrobat 6 Standard with it, so everyone has it anyway.

As for Wildfire 3.0, it is not widely published, but check out this link:
