Tell me about it. About 8-9 months ago, triggered by hugely increased work commitments, I made a conscious decision to scale back the "admin" side of rocketry and concentrate on building and flying. Selfish? Maybe...

This seems to be a problem for many people that help to run the clubs and it's multiplied by having to do most of the duties on launch day. When we attended the SEARS launch a couple of weeks ago, it was nice to see the guys in charge get to do some flying too. At other club launches I've attended, the poor guys in charge did about 99% of the work and 1% of the flying. It does come down to organization and a little consideration.

I think many times the folks doing the lion's share of the work, don't get to do much flying. I can only hope that the people they fly with, see the sacrifices they're making and appreciate that these people make it possible for them to enjoy the hobby.

My hat's off to everyone that does anything to promote and operate the clubs. Having run a little league park for 8 years, I know how thankless it can be. I didn't do it to be thanked and I'm sure most of those that run the clubs aren't looking for great glowing words of gratitude, but no matter the cause, if you're a volunteer, it is nice once in a while, when someone does say thank you.
