OT: What Kind of SF Writer are You?

The test is flawed. It measures only one axis of political views. i.e. left-right, not up-down. I scored in the middle. That could make me an independent, a libertarian, or a socialist.

Well I am a hard core Imperialist so it obviously did not apply to me.

I found myself evaluated as a Hal Clement - even though I consider RAH may spiritual father. Either the quiz author got something wrong, or I didn't learn enough from Robert.

I wonder if Douglas Adams was in the equation? I always identified with Arthur Dent...

Sorry, you're wrong -- at the end of Farnham's Freehold, Hugh Farnham 'mates' with his daughter.

if you look at the last letter of your "result" and change it to a value from A to Z you can step through the 26 different authors that the survey results include.

So on a purely genetic level they can "do it" as much as they want so long as no children result?

And even if they have a kid, the real problems are over 2 generations away?

See I got "over 2" into this.

I'm 0% repubican. I take great comfort in that. It also explains why there's a spy-sat above my house, and here I thought it was due to Homeland Security. Well that's one conspiracy theory laid to rest.

As I said, I scored around the middle, but the test is flawed. I'm NEITHER republican or democrat. Try this quiz instead:

Hah!

I scoff at you all! Mere pretenders to the throne!

The author that saved this nine year old overweight kid with a reading problem from a life of reading misery. Do you have the SF book that changed you? I do, I still have THAT book. Go look on ABMR

I am very proud to stand with my first SF hero Kimball Kinnison on the control deck of the Dauntless.

Apparently I'm Gregory Benford. Scary thing is, he looks a lot like me.

depending on whether you're actually in the middle like it said, or on the far right with the libertarians, or on the far left with the socialists?

I always thought it was a cylinder or even sphere, rather than a line. Go far enough left or far enough right and you become a National Socialist.

First Sci-Fi book I read was " The City and The Stars "

The result I would like to see is one of the ACTUAL scifi writers. Each one would likely be another guy.

The survey seems based on the writing content of the CHARACTERS in the work, not based on the real lives of the writers.
