I need one. My Transolve beeper that I use for most HPR applications will
not fit in my Estes Mean Machine I will be flying at LDRS on a H210. I
really want to have a beeper to use to ease recovery. Will anyone be vending
them?
Make sure you bring your own battery with you for it Stephen. The Pratt
Microbeacon requires a 'weird' battery from Radioshack. I can't remember
what type of battery it is right off hand, but suffice to say it might be
hard to find at the range.

If you're after a MicroBeacon, give Doug a call. I bet he'd be willing
to express mail one to you at the hotel, or anywhere else you might
need/want it, so you have it available.

Um. I don't think Ross has any. Check with Ken at Performance Hobbies;
I try to keep him pretty well supplied.
I could send you a couple via First Class Mail, and they would
certainly get there within two days. I just Express Mailed an order to
the Wichita Airport Hilton for a customer. I would hate to use Express
Mail to send you two $10 products, since the shipping would be
$18...almost the cost of the stuff. They will hold your First Class
mail at the desk of the hotel for you, so that would be a safe bet.
Let me know if you want to try it. I've got a summer camp building
session all day today, but I could get it in the mail tonight.
Oh, since someone mentioned it, I also have the batteries in stock.

It's not wierd at all. It's a 12v "lighter" battery, about the same size as
an N cell. It's also used in car alarm remotes, many altimeters, and even
the AYUCR that runs my pencam. IIRC the industry standard part number is
23A. While there seem to be half a dozen or more different brands, they all
appear to be identical and seem to be made in the same factory in China.
They can be had for under $1 if you look around.

Yes, but it also shows Doug's customer service attitude and may help others
who are lurking and wondering how to get the device. Doug doesn't abuse this
forum.

I just found out that Scott Miller of SFSM Industries is going to
LDRS. He has plenty of my Ejection Canisters, and should have some
MicroBeacons. Check with him when you get to Kansas!
