Hi all, Does anyone know which South African squadron(s) operated Canberras, and also whether or not they were camouflaged, and in what colours? Please reply direct to me as I don't often get on RMS these days.
Thanks in advance, Tony Whittingham

Tony, I've seen them in either natural metal or a dull aluminium and PRU blue. The blue ones carried smaller size insignia or none at all. I have more information on them, probably including squadron numbers but I'll have to dig it out. Air International did a couple of articles on the SAAF over the years. HTH.

Completed SAAF 1/72 Canberra model can be seen here. Someone told me that I mixed up the national markings ' locations/directions but the model is nice nonetheless
Looks nice The only comment I would say is that the overall PRU blue scheme did not carry national markings. I have yet to see a picture of a o/a PRU blue scheme thus that I can recall. They were very bland in this regard

And no sooner do I reply when Murphy steps through the door
It does appear as if one B12 at least flew with national markings and large serials as well as tyhe squadron badge on the tail
