curious as to whether or not a model is available for the Russian transport used in the movie.
Has an angled B-25 type tail, and about 1000 wheels....
Ideas?
thx - Craig

...one of these?..an An-124?..
Or maybe something BIG - Mriya
yeah, closer to the mryia. it had a grey finish instead of white in the movie...the tail I thought had an upright angle though. I do not see this in the link. Unless they just made up a plane for the movie.
found a thread on what the plane might be.

I'm leaning towards fictional. Think "Arado Flying Wing" from Raiders of the Lost Ark........
...did it have two tails, or one? If it only had one (B-52 style) then it was more likely an An-124. If it was a real plane...
I recall it having a B-25 style tail, angled upwards. the fotos on the above links provided do not show the upward angle..

Some are calling it an An-225, but an An-225 has two tails at the end of it's stabs - an An-124 has one in the usual location. But they have similar looking fuselages and undercarriages...so, one tail or two?
...both look strikingly like over-sized C5As...with lots of wheels.

yes, the FX are very good. movie was too long and never really explained why Earth is falling apart. Spent about 30 seconds on the Mayan calendar bit. Best part is watching Los Angeles go down. A good turn off the brain movie. Funny stuff too. You will laugh a lot.
