Hannants - Ordering from the States>

Oct 31, 2003 11 Replies

I had just made an order from Hannants for some of those hard to get RAF aircraft conversion sets, etc. Does anyone have experience ordering from them here in USA to kind of give me an idea what to expect time wise in shipping? Not that I have any problem with them - just wondering how long I should expect to wait - or move on to another project while waiting?

Thanks, Nate

Not the swiftest, but service is generally sure. 7-21 days by air mail, plus pull and pack time.

Orders delivered to my part of the UK aren't that much faster. Usually 7-15 days.

Not too bad then - I think I got an order from Roll Models from 6 months ago still outstanding. In fact, I think I am ordering the same stuff from UK as I gave up on Roll Models.

I've ordered from them twice, and I believe both times the order got to me in California in about three weeks--might have been a couple of fdays faster.

I have never ordered on line from them due to it being quicker for me to drive there. 20 miles there and back.

Oooooooooooooooooo !!!

Admit it. You just wrote that to make us jealous, right?

I'm another Hannants customer from the far side of the Atlantic who's orders are generally delivered in 2 to 3 weeks.

Please be aware that we in the UK are currently experiencing an unofficial postal workers strike.

The walkouts started in London - but it has spread to other sorting offices around the country.

I'm not sure how it will affect your order - but it will probably slow it down.

No reflection on Hannants - just something to be aware of.

Last time I ordered from them, I ordered in person in the shop, and had it shipped back to Los Angeles.

2 - 3 weeks delivery.

Ouch! I've got an order in with them at the moment too.

Well, this IS a hobby-no deadlines.

Thanks, Ken, for the heads up.

As for deadlines...............

I am trying to finish a major conversion of the Esci Tu-22M3 Backfire.

It is almost complete - but I am waiting for a set of Equipage wheels from a friend in Moscow.

The wheels are on their way, they are somewhere in the system, there is a postal strike, the IPM UK Nationals is 3 weeks way......

Well if it makes you jealous. I was in their London shop today :-)

He He :-)

Mark.

Hi, Cool down everybody, I received a package today, they're still flowing...

Included were rather esoteric decals and resin. Hannants did a good job on that one, and their website is the best I know. Dispatch time was 13 days, pretty fast Hannant's wise. I'm accustomed to a good three weeks. Great place to shop anyway.
