!!Help needed to build a model airplane out of a typewriter for Art Project!!

Hello,

I am currently undertaking a project in association with the V&A and One Dot Zero Moving Image Festival. I am trying to find either an individual or a club that would be able to help me make a model aircraft out of an old typewriter. I have the type of plane/shape I want it to resemble and all the parts from the typewriter. I am not sure if you are able to help me in any way. I was wondering whether you have any tips or contacts of modelling clubs that might help? I am based in the Surrey area, but can travel around.

The end aim is to try and get the model to fly, either by cheating using bolsa wood etc or something lighter but using the shapes of the typewriter pieces.

I would be grateful for any information you may have that could help, Please don't hesitate to contact me...

Thanks Anna

One possibility is to join the electric flight group by checking the list rules page at

, then ask your question of them. Another possibility is a newsgroup I haven't monitored for a while, rec.models.rc.air .

anything will fly with enough lift. strap on some model rocket engines and blast off. just figure the rating of the rocket motor into the weight of the typewriter until you have enough. lite it up and wave bye bye.

My dad and his friends did that with one of my large styrofoam gliders(you remember the great big ones) They got a few flights before it melted. They also had the habbit of shooting my Tonka trucks up the alley with those Estes 'D' engines. Ah yes the good ol days.
