Lindberg/Hawk Zeppelin - What is this thing?

I was informed on a Yahoo site that the first issue was all injected and a reissue (about 1975) included a vacuum-formed envelope (hull, fuselage??) and fins. I had that one and it was a bitch. Fit was nice, but my skills weren't up to the challenge and I shelved it. Tossed the thing later on after a couple of moves when I lost a lot of the pieces. Haven't seen this one outside of the box yet. Local brick and mortar is selling them (had three in stock last week) for $65.00 each. Too rich for my blood.

I had the vacuform one in the Testors issue many years back. Originally the kit was issued with a group of escort fighter aircraft to give something to compare it to for scale. The vacuform hull was very difficult to assemble properly. According to this, the Hawk model is entirly injection molded using new tooling, and includes internal lighting (not a motor) to show off the passenger area:

The current Hawk issue in 1:245 scale is injection molded styrene. The hull halves fit together surprisingly well. (about 3 feet long!) There's some decent detail in the gondola and so forth, and it comes with an electrification kit. This is not motorization; it's for lighting inside the gondola.

I was looking at it at Skyway Model Shop; it's not my cup of tea, but it's still interesting.

I've got 2 of them & they are definitely injected. I've wanted 1 for years but didn't really want to deal with a vac. MIM is pretty good about putting out incorrect info, like materials, scales, etc., & they're about as interested in clearing up mistakes as Squadron.

What is the detailing of the interior like and how is the lighting done? How do you get at the batteries for replacement?
