Model Airways 1/16 Sopwith

Got an email from Model Expo. They are going to sell the 1/16 Model Airways Sopwith as 8 separate kits shipped once every month for 8 months freight free. That's $25 a month rather than coughing up 200 bucks right away. An interesting idea for sure. Has anyone built one of these? I'm not sure my skill level would be up to the task. I've never build anything that complex out of wood. I'm, like most of us here, pretty much a plastic guy.

If I'm not mistaken, this was designed by Ben Lankford, who did a lot of the Model Shipways kits. He is renowned for quality designs & outstanding & clear plans/instructions. I have one of his kits, the US Brig Niagara. If you are going to cut your teeth on a wooden kit, you can't go wrong with one of his.

Can anybody give a comparison of this kit to the old Hasegawa 1/8 scale Camel? I have a friend who is STILL working on that Hasegawa kit even though he bought it 20 years ago..................jim
