Yes. Remove the excess by rubbing with a cotton bud or cloth dampened with Mr. Color thinner, rubbing alcohol, or non-acetone nail polish remover.
What Al said ,works a treat with Tamiya putty too.
It also works with Bondo Spot & Glaze and many other putties as well. Neat trick!
