In essence, at election time we each cross our fingers and vote for the one who is the "lesser of two evils" Ain't life grand? Still, looking at where we are, the system has served the people of the United States pretty well. I mean, is there somewhere else in this poor be-nighted world you would rather live??

It's called the Presidential election--one-terming a president is much more direct than any bill of impeachment. It's an open question to me whether there were people in the administration who knew the intel was mostly bogus, or whether there was simply a skill/analysis gap at the highest reaches. Under the bridge now, my friend. The clock cannot be turned back; we must proceed from this point. Recriminations are for fools. If I thought there had been a learning process in this administration, I might just shrug and say, "Well, that was expensive tuition, but at least the boy has a good education now." I can't get there.

Um......by making it subject to the interests of France, Germany, Russia, and the UN rather than America's national interests. Surely you don't actually think it would be a Good Thing to give them veto power over our foreign policy?

Who would we have invaded instead?

As was virtually every other nation. And, again, we don't do 'regimes' in the US, we do 'administrations'. That's why we're having an election in a little over two months.

I don't know. Why don't you ask Kerry why he decided to make it the centerpiece of his candidacy?

You must not have been paying attention to how they feel about Bush:

He's been using a multilateral approach to N. Korea. I thought that's what you liberals preferred.

He's using a multilateral approach with Iran, too. You see where it's getting us in both cases, don't you? Is it time yet for some 'unilateral' action?

And it never will be now...

Well, the beginnings of a missle defense system are being deployed in Alaska right now. As for blockading N. Korea, see the Proliferation Security Initiative:

And what makes you think Kerry 'knows how to be president'? After all, Carter is one of his biggest supporters....

Oh, really? How many Americans are being held hostage in their diplomatic compound by Islamofascist thugs?

I can't imagine why. Seriously.

Yeah, they're doing a great job convincing the Iranian mullahs to give up their nuclear weapons program. We definitely need to follow their lead.

Yep. Two tyrants overthrown, at least one cowed, bunches and bunches of dead or captured terrorists, and no new attacks on the homeland seems like a pretty good record so far to me....

Sorry Al, that makes as much sense as some government agent coming to your house to execute you because you might murder somebady someday in the future. Iraq may have been a moral cesspit, but they weren't the enemy in this case; he's still hiding out in Afghanistan with funding from the Saudis. Iraq (or at least Saddam) ~was~ however the "guy that tried to kill my daddy".

Agreed! Kerry opened this can of worms with his own big mouth and now he's running around whining about the Swift Boat Veterans response. He's even gone so far as to attempt through the Democratic National Committee to suppress a book written by one of the veterans. I have been told that Borders has gone PC on us and does not carry it. I'll check Barnes & Noble this afternoon.

Well, it could be a lot worse. It could be like the parliamentary system we have here in Norway where the one who gets the least number of votes may end up as prime minister anyway ... :-P

However, lies vs mistaken? The

I doubt this wil be the full story. The risk of making a mistake when a suspect is sentenced without incriminatory evidence is high. Every child knows that. The truth will emerge later I think.
