OK Guys, How much did we spend on models this christmas?

Well, you could go Pre-Christian and do exactly what you're doing anyway by re-introducing the true message, getting together with people you might not have seen maybe all year and having a great time with lots to eat and drink. This is what was done pre-Roman times when there were no shops/stores - well there were stores as that was vegetables stored in pits with sand and soil thrown over the top to keep them from rotting too quickly. The time was a breather as you then knew that spring was getting closer and it was a time to also reflect on those who were not around any more.

The Romans, with their candidate who was born around late Spring/Early Summer are not even to blame for the way it is now! It's Capitilism and not the nice version with lots of benefactors giving large chunks of money to hospitals, schools and kids in workhouses making our plastic kits for a bowl of rice a year! ;-)

Fight back and have that true meaning of Christmas. Get drunk, get laid and lose your memory for a while.

Great IPMS Santa Rosa party. Got some nice Hasegawa and Academy kits, Justin got a DVD, Lynne did some short interviews for ESM 72. Lots of pizza, sodas and beer with great conversation.

Only thing odd was the movie playing in the background, an old one about types and testing of atomic devces.

I've cooked up the dinners around this time, in fact I cook all the time now, so it'll be chicken and pheasant at least, with all the trimmings and a few pies with pears and apples from our small orchard.

So as not to confuse it with Christmas, I'm saving up my money to buy a whole load of stuff from, I think it's called, Model Miniatures down the road from Clapham Junction, South London. It's like a junk shop of kits with some of the old stuff like the Spad and SE5a in those polythene bags to the really large stuff. The owner even showed us a really old model kit made out of Bakelite!

It'll be in the middle of January when all the customers have stopped acting like London is one great big mosh pit!

This year the first night of Channukah is December 25.

That means the after Christmas sales are fair game. I'll be watching the ads for Hobby Lobby and the like.

One neat thing that have been doing every year is adding the Hallmark airplane ornaments to the tree. These are small (HO?) airplane ornaments with excellent detail and great subject matter. This year it's a 1931 Laird Super Solution, green with yellow wings and other trim. This #9 in the seres.

What a great idea! Can you get the tree to rotate slowly ?

It makes me wish I didn't break up my (?)Matchbox Me109 made in conjunction with the Battle of Britain film. I find the lower part of it still, when I dig in the back garden.
