I wonder if world opinion would change, once the general public realizes, that a large percentage of these rebelling Ivorian "civilians"... are in fact Muslims? Nahhh....I doubt it. After all, they are being fought by noble French Socialists.

Also nary a whisper on the murder of Mrs. Hassan. Strange ain't it? And we're supposed to give a crap what the rest of the world thinks?
"noble french socialists"? no matter how i try, i cannot make those three words work together in any sentance except; "noble french socialists is an invalid statement".
I don't care what a bunch of hypocrites think...
Don't you know that's because the french are such saints?
Half the world is stunned that they hit anybody. The other half is amazed the guns were loaded or would operate.

Well Gee Whiz! How do you expect Al Jazira to run that when they are constantly running the bit about the poor "insurgent" getting whacked??
Bill Shuey in total sarcasm mode.
I don't think this was a gov't ordered slaughter of innocents.More like being cautious with deadly force.Should he have asked sweetly if this unarmed prisoner was ready to blow himself up in the name of Allah?
Good grief, Jerry, you are comparing the knee jerk reaction of a recently injured Marine with the ntentional massacre of dozens of unarmed prisoners?
You either have no idea of what happened at Malmady or your political bent is bent.

Lots of Ivorians don't seem to think so...
Not a bit strange, unfortunately. After all, she was murdered by some of Michael Moore's 'Minutemen'...
I think our recent election showed 'the world' what we think of its opinion.
Yep - I addressed that in a previous post.
Who in authority classified him as a prisoner? And if he was look up 'perfidy' and 'treachery' in the Geneva Conventions.
The "in the heat of battle" scenario that I have heard makes sense... you shoot first and ask questions later. These "insurgents" are thugs, baby killers and should be the death penalty if captured, not be treated as any kind of POW. They are committing treason and more. In my opinion the Marine simply killed someone so they coudl not go to the hospital and get out to do it again. We should pin a medal on him.
As for the French, they can shoot when no one is shooting back!

LOL !!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't be suprised if these were not even trully French soldiers - after all France uses Foreign Legion to do the dirty work... :-/
BTW, was the Iraqi found to be armed after he was shot?
Not trying to start a fight, I just haven't seen that reported.
Don't reply to the btconnect address - and remove nospam!!
What was the source fore this nugget, I havnt seen anything about the incident.
I am aware though that there is a civil war in Ivory Coast and the French were manning the cease fire line when the cease fire was broken by the Government. Government aircraft attacked the French killing nine. The French being a little peeved at that destroyed the Ivorian airforce.
French and BRITISH troops are/were guarding the highway from the capital city to the airport to extract foreigners of all nationalities to Ghana.
As to the wanton killing of peaceful civilians I do not know. Perhaps any extracted US citizens may be able to tell the world of this little horror.
Can you be more specific with the 'treason' bit??
