Query: Polish National Insignia

I had relied on the red square always being in the upper left and lower right on aircraft. Lately I've seen photos of real a/c where that is reversed. Is there a rule on this or none at all?

I don't know how true this is because it's Wikipaedia but you never know? Heraldry usually has strict rules about quadrants and suchlike.

I am not a modeller, but a philatelist, I was searching for Polish Etiquettes (sundry postal labels) some time ago and this picture of a spitfire came up, which may interest you. Make of it, what you will.

Thanks, Richard. It sounds right but I'm surprised that 70 years of tradition got the boot.

That's okay Bill. Why not try going to the 'horses mouth'? I usually do in such matters.

The Polish Museum.

The people who work in museums are usually employed for their enthusiasm and usually have extensive archives or material which we couldn't match. It'd probably give more weight and reasoning as to why the 70 years of tradition did indeed get the boot.

Good hunting!

Richard.
