Stash rules

I have a certain number of rules regarding adding kits to my stash, in a desperate - and probably futile - attempt to prevent my Main Stash exceeding

100 kits. So, I have a number of questions...

Conversion kits: Kits that provide major components such as fuselages. Does the group consider these to be Stash Enhancement eXperiences (SEX) or not?

Ebay acquisitions: Buying on Ebay means that I don't actually set foot inside a model shop. Does the group consider kits acquired in such a manner to be valid SEX?

Maybe I just need some therapy! ;-)

Keep them wrapped in plastic, else you may end up with several new fuselages before you know it.

Provided you sell it again without it getting to your home, it is just virtual SEX. It does make you rather an iffy character though :-)

My thoughts go along the lines of investing in a model shop. That way I have a place to store my kits (well, partly mine) and I get to pay money and get it back if the shop does well. Sadly, most seem to be family affairs... ha, got it! The daughter of one of the local shops is a Maiko (geisha in training), that should be a perfect match...

I tried rules once...they don't work. I once thought I should be locked up if my stash ever exceeded 100 unbuilt kits...I'm pretty sure I have something closing in on 200 unbuilts now...

I do hold to one rule - and that's the rule of the checkbook. That's why I buy mainly 1/32 scale...simple economics keeps my stash...er..."resonably" sized. Trumpeter isn't helping though - they keep bringing out what I want.

BTW - where's my 1/32 Mig-23, Su-27, and P-61, fellas?..

Oh yeah - IMO, aftermarket acquisitions don't count. Adding an entire kit of any form in any manner does.

They'll need to do a series then, 'cause I like the glass nosed ones.

A new 1/32 Mosquito would be nice, too...and a 1/32 Me 410...and how about a 1/32 Ar 234B...

Believe me, you will, you will. Even if that wasn't your intention :-) Ah, women....

Excellent! That's just the answer I was hoping for! :-D

How about if the kit was only ever intended to provide components? I bought six Airfix Spitfire 24s at a couple of quid each. There is no box or decals for these, just the plastic parts. They were never intended to be actually built, but are to provide engines and/or fuselages to be grafted on to Hasegawa MkIXs, to produce MkXIVs, XVIIIs or XIXs. Can I treat those as "aftermarket" bits? ;-)

How about a 1:32 He.111Z with a Me.321 to go hang gliding with?

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions"...seem to me that you can build at least one more Spit out of the remnants of the others.

...not to mention that it would seem there are at least six more of some variety already in your sights...rabbits...they breed like rabbits, I tell you...

The first time I heard about stashing (in another forum) I was amazed any guy would feel a need to have 25 unbuilt kits let alone 200.

Stashing is for squirrels, drug dealers and psychos.

I think building is a better form of hobby expression and you stashers should quit it and build those kits cause I think you are nuts and I'm not kidding.

Sure to make friends now.
