SU-15

HI I have just started Trumpeter's Su-15 and have a question about colors.. I possess Xtra-Colors Blue/green for interiors and green for wheel hubs. I intended to use the blue/green for cockpit, wheel wells, etc. but had to find out (photos) that at least the cockpit color is simply light blue, not at all the blue/green that I have, and that is much more on the green side...What's the blue/green for then? Is the color for the wheels the same used for the radome and dielectric panels? You see, I am not too much into Russian aircraft. I would appreciate any information tia Ingo

The blue/green was more commonly used on some MiG aircraft. For most other Russian types, including WWII (or Great Patriotic War, for the purists), and Sukhoi a/c in general (Su-15, Su-25), a blue-grey colour, like RLM 78, looks good to me.

Close enough - I'd certainly use it.

The turquoise colour found in most late Russian cockpits varies enormously from a rich blue green to a washed out greenish blue and so on. The Sukhoi aircraft in particular seem to be much bluer and paler than the Migs. Though I doubt you'll find two cockpit photos of different Su-15's that match each other. I have even seen cockpits on Su-15s painted satin black and the later Su cockpit light grey. best solution is to find a photo you like and try to get as close to that as you can.

and yes, usually the dielectric panels, radome and wheels were the same colour. though again the paint fades quickly and badly on exposed surfaces so expect some variation.
