I believe that the standard SOAF scheme during the 60s and 70s was Middle Stone and Dark Earth uppersurfaces. The lowersurfaces were most probably Light Aircraft Grey, although Azure Blue is a possibility. These were the standard RAF colours.
The Airfix kit of the Strikemaster uses the Dk Earth/Dk Green/Lt Aircraft grey scheme.
I think the contrast referred to in other photos might be the result of differing reflectivity of the paint surface, with greater halation of one colour, giving it the appearance of being much lighter.

Middle Stone was dropped as a camo colour soon after WW2.

That may be entirely the case - in which case I apologise for the confusion! I have been desperately searching through my references looking for pictures to support my contention, but no joy. I have a feeling the ones I need are in my bound copies of Air Pictorial from the 70s, but they are in storage about 250 miles away...
Hey thanks Guys, That's much appreciated. Dark Earth/Dark Green/Lt A/C Grey it is then.
Best regards,
Neil Wynne.
