Does somebody know the difference between the (field) gun carriages numbers

The type 1, 2, and 3 terminology seems not to have been used on this side of the pond. There were three types of field carriage according to "Field Artillery Weapons of the Civil War", written by Hazlett, Olmstead, and Parks. One type of carriage was sized for the 6-pounder gun and 12-pounder howitzer, a second type was sized for the heavy 12-pounder gun and 32-pounder howitzer, and a third type was sized for the light 12-pounder gun (Napoleon) and 24-pounder howitzer. The reference does not indicate whether a type number was assigned (IMHO a type number was not used--the size of the intended weapon determined the carriage type).

1, 2 and 3, that were used during the civil war (North America 1860's). In if he knows will het tell me. I've searched long and hard on the net, but couldn't get the right info.
