And they at least drink beer.......

S*it, another clueless newbie wannabe moderator and topic cop.

It appears that the cops that shot him were undercover (i.e. plain clothes). What would you do if someone started waving a gun at you? Run?

What's the difference between terrorists that kill innocent people for what they perceive as justifiable reasons and police that kill innocent people for what they perceive as justifiable reasons?

Not much?

I think the terrorists just had their first win.

My 2c

al, ron, pecker, e, ghost, kurt, shuey, old timer, mad, z, e.t.a.l. ..........

All you RMS dead enders (meaning the only clowns left in this newsgroup) are sinking fast into the quicksand of your own pathetic mental dungeons.

I just drop by here from time to time for a belly laugh; or perhaps a haunted house scare; or perhaps to take the pulse of the neocon delusions that beset our great country.

Taking the grand prize is Ron with this gem .....

"Stupidity should be painful, willful stupidity should be fatal. He was willfully stupid."

Well here is a challenge for you upstanding citizens. Try to justify this one ......

A year ago, after a domestic disturbance call, a Denver cop climbed up a ladder, silently entered the residence by a second story window, and shot a guy lying in bed. He shot him deader then a doorknob. The claim was the man was reaching for a shiny object that could have been a gun.

It was a can of cola.

My guess is the man was asleep, but the coroner could not prove this fact. Some things are even beyond the deduction powers of CSI. Was he asleep or awake? Nobody knows. And he ain't fessing up.

And the domestic fight was long over, the abusive husband having left the scene.

And the abused wife had told the police there was an invalid upstairs during the 911 call.

It turned out the man was the grandfather who as an invalid had been confined to his bed for a long time. The man could not move, could not talk, could not get himself out of bed; and on top of all that, he was Hispanic and the cop was a Gringo.

You have three choices here. Tell me .....

1) how this shooting is justified (perhaps he deserved to die since he fathered the mother of the daughter fighting downstairs).

or

2) the man was only a short time away from death anyway, so the cops did him a favor.

or

3) what we should do to the cop, who is certainly guilty of "willful stupidity," to use Ron's colorful terminology?

If you refuse to take up my challenge; well, go off and build another 1/48th Nazi Me-109 ...... Hey, I got a couple of those in my stash too, but my excuse is different then most, since as a legit aircraft designer, I needed to know what the krauts were doing.

...../V

PS: The cop got fired, not shot in the head eight times. Lucky for him, Ron had no say in the matter.

PS: This story is dead true. If you doubt it, do a google on it. Or check out .....

..... recommended reading! The author's premise is that "projected force" is useless when the force cannot defend itself or it's actions/results.

PS: Sigh! I wonder why I even try to reach out to you guys with common sense, which is sorely lacking in the "Way to go Brit's" thread. Holy cow, an hour lost writing this message and reveiwing the research on the story. It would be a lot easier and cheaper to just buy a metal ruler and wack at myself.

He's an idiot and a liar to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if V*ss added sock puppet to his repertoire and is responsible for a couple of the other peckerwoods that sprouted up this week. They share that same Christopher Lowell 'tough guy' approach to the usenet. One wants to spank himself with a steel ruler and the other was aghast to learn that boys want to f*ok girls.

Coincidence - I think not.

Uh, catch them and don't shoot them. I hope you don't have 2 year olds around the house if you haven't figured that out.

Plus....feel free to show us a model club meeting, or a gathering of model builders, where this topic was *not* extensively discussed.

Probably 90% of "talk" at such meetings and gatherings also has *dick* to do with "scale modeling".

Most of us can't find people at work to engage in *intelligent* discussion of current events...so we modelers should feel *proud* that so many of us want to discuss current events and politics.

A) The situation you described has nothing to do with what happened in London - or what people have discussed, mainly because there was no police command to stop and no attempt at flight. It is utterly irrelevant.

B) You PROMISED that after your humiliating comeuppance last November that you would go away and never come back. Please be good to your word.

Typical non-sequitor from him.

You really expected that raving loon to keep his word?

I guess it all depends on what you define as a win. The greatest problem with all the bombings is that they achieved nothing but the death of innocent people. If the purpose of the bombing was to change US/Western/Developed world/Christian policy/attitudes/beliefs then the attacks failed miserably. In fact, the bombing have resulted in the deaths of many innocent Muslim people in Afghanistan, Iraq and other Muslim countries.

Maybe the only purpose of the attacks was to kill innocent people. I can't get my mind around that but either way, the terrorist who perpetrated these attacks must be stopped. That said, we must no let ourselves to descend to their level.

The only change that I can see is that it is now Western governments have given its law enforcement officers the OK to kill anybody they consider a threat without reference to the rules of law.

Some terrorist may consider that causing Western/Democratic governments to change the way they treat their people, a "win".

How can I reply to such a well reasoned and logically argument?

The difference is that terrorists *know* _in advance_ that their victims are innocent.

How so? By forcing civilized men to defend themselves against barbarians?

Um, it's those selfsame governments that *make* the laws in the first place.

They might think it but they would be wrong.

And if the cops can't catch them they should just let them go?

Given that the reports are that they caught him, then shot him, that's a dumb question. You do realize that this was in the crowded subway, don't you? You're suggesting that since he's undoubtedly going to blow the place up might as well start shooting in his direction, crowd or not? Except that he wasn't going to blow the place up, after all. Now as embarrassing as this was, imagine how embarassing if they had shot an innocent bystander.

Oh, Vessticles, thank you for poppin in and insulting everyone again. See my individual comments below.

Given particulars of the breadth, depth, and length of the changes, this is certainly arguable. If the power of the West can be considered to come from the "things" that make it different from brutal, reactionary regimes, causing the West to creep toward actually becoming like those regimes has to be viewed as a loss of advantage.

Also, as the western governments change there will be more and more disaffection from the populace - which won't be limited to the "loonies". The absolute stalwarts will attack the disaffected, and more polarization will result. Will continued stimulus by terror acts there is the possibility of a downward spiral.

But in completely different circumstances. You might as well say that any surviving driver in an accident involving a fatality is guilty of murder - regardless of weather conditions, impairment, or actions of the dead driver.

Then don't read this group, nor post upon it.

KL

Steel rulers? Yeah dummy, I would think so too.

Yep - pissy fit, comin' up.

I dunno - I think there are some things even a ruler won't do. I'd apologize to your palm before it's too late.

Yeah I know - I imagine I lost you at the very first "the" Professor Einstein.

I'm not entirely sure - but I think the fop meant that to be intimidating. Maybe even as far as a warning or perish the thought - a threat. Google my references.... yeah... OK... however you want to spend your days and nights there sweetpea.

Oh behave!

Palm rash? Seat in front of Pee Wee Hermann in the theater?

That goes without saying

Inspiring - sounds a bit made up though.

OK V*ss, you've had your tantrum - now f*ck off.
