What Major Aircraft Were Not Produced as a Model?

A 1/200 HK-1 has been issued (and reissued) by a number of companies including Entex, Minicraft, and Academy.

Last time I was down at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville, they had several of these kits on the gift shop shelf - though I don't recall the manufacturer.

Never mind - "H-1" not "HK-1"!

So far as I know, an H-1 kit was produced only resin (in 48th by a French outfit) and in vac-form (1/32nd by Combat).

Seems like it would have fit right in with that series of 1930's racers that Hawk did (Gee Bee, Laird Solution, etc.) but for some reason they passed on doing a Hughes racer.

The Czech Master kit mentoned earlier is just stunning. Having parts and decals for both configurations is sheer perfecton.

BTW, I watched an old (1940?) movie on Turner the other day about perfecting a new fighter for the the Army. While a model was used for some of the flying scenes and all of the crash scenes, all of the ground scenes and many of the flying scenes featured the Hughes H-1.

Anyone remember the name of the movie? Was the H-1 used in any other movies?

I don't think it was Test Pilot, I've seen that one many times. It was one of a series of movies with a particular actor in the lead roles. Wish my memory for names was better. I come by t honestly. My mother used to call me Dave. That's not my name. I'm an only child. That would worry some peoplr. :-)

Great news for C-124 fans, BTW. Anigrand Craftswork, 1/72 resin, about $125 or so. Their kits are outstanding. I'm working on their Skystreak/Skyrocket trio and they are really well done.
