I was denied membership in an Aurora model group. Who decides who is in/out? Do they have elusions of godhood? Power mad little corporals?
I joined three other model groups tonight with no problem.
I thought it sounded like a fun group. Guess not.
How does it all work? Do they have access to all the groups you have joined?

The owner of the group. Usually the person who created the group.
Certainly not. They're just protecting their group.
The person who created the Yahoo Group owns it. If he wants to control who can join, that's his right -- why should he create a group for discussing Aurora models and then have it ruined by troublemakers? (No, I'm not saying you're a troublemaker, just giving one reason why some groups have restricted memberships.)
Since I'm not a member of that group, much less a moderator, I don't know why the moderator rejected you. Maybe he just didn't like your name, or did a Google search on your name and didn't like what he found. If you want to find out, ask him by email; there should be a "list owner" link on the group's main page.

thx. I did just that. As I am a newbie to Yahoo I did not have or figure out the profile bit, which is what he went by. We exchanged emails and now I am a member. It worked out more than fine...
