Decypher this Instructional Phrase

Will someone schooled on Photoworks decypher this instructional phrase for me please? This is in regards to a "Trick for rendering chromium" tutorial, by M. Wilson, posted on another Forum.

"Model, Set to black the color of the Chromium parts".

Thank you,

I haven't looked up the tutorial but chrome would be black in color with a very high reflectance of >90% - if it weren't black it would be too bright I think?

If it weren't black, it would show some of the color you applied. Black = absence of color. Real chrome is like a mirror - to make good chrome, set material color to black.
