When in a drawing you have dims that become detached because you changed how a feature was built or you chang the referneces to another part that is similar, how do you reattach these dims. All the dims I want are there they are just detached. I see that a dim that has not become detached has the drag handles but onec they are detached they are gone. Is this supposed to happen.

That's the way I always remember it - you have to just recreate the dimension. I must say that ACAD certainly has the upper hand in changing where dimensions attach. Hopefully I've missed something simple all these years and there is, in fact, a solution.

Of course not, but that's the way it's been since 98+ or earlier. Stupid, but SW doesn't seem in the slightest bit inclined to fix it.
