Guided Sweeps

Sep 21, 2004 3 Replies

hi there. Just started using solidworks 2004 - really impressed but i`m stuck on something and wondered if anyone could give me a clue.

I`m trying to make a shape similar to a mobile fone, lots of curves. Had some success with guided sweeps, but cant seem to get enough control over these.

I would like to be able to create a 'cage' with lines & splines and put a surface on that, is this possible with SW ??

Thanks a lot for any advice

chris

Have a look at the Curvy Stuff tutorials to get an overview of how to do curvy stuff in SW.

Have you tried using Lofts? Sounds like a better match to what you are doing than Sweeps. You could also try Fill Surfaces with constraint curves.

As Dale said, download Ed Eaton's three Curvy Stuff tutorials and work your way through them. There's gold in them thar powerpoints!
