Item No. link on drawing sheet

Is there any way to have the Item No for a part in the BOM automatically inserted on the detail drawing sheet for the part? I've played with various links and cannot get this to work. What I'd really like to do is have the Item No and file name pop up automatically in the Title block on the detail drawing sheet for the part.

Still no takers on this one? I've done some research since posting this, but have come up with essentially nada. What I'd like to do is put the Item No in the Title block of a detail sheet...the same Item No that appears in the assembly BOM for the detail part. I can do this manually now, but it sure would be nice to somehow have this popped in automatically when doing the detail.

I have the same problem, but it goes beyond that. From my research, you can not put an item # from an assembly in your detail drawing. (If you had small assemblies you could set up configs that only show the part you want to detail.) We can not rely on item numbers that could change when I reorder assembly components. Our system also requires us to separate fabricated, purchased/alter, purchased, and standard items. So we are setting up a custom property for the detail number, which then populates on drawings and in our custom BOM. You still have to manually assign detail #'s, but you have a link between BOM and drawing.

The alternative is to write a macro that finds the component in the BOM, then copies the data you want.

Before you get started writing the macro, make sure you file an enhancement request.
