I have just installed SW x64 on a new dell M90 with windows x64. When I open a drawing it automatically opens all the parts and assemblies also. (never did this before) when I arrange windows and select the drawing, it opens everything again. I cannot select the drawing window for some reason.
any ideas?

Check Tools/Options/System Options/External References. "Load referenced documents" should be on "None" to match the way it used to work. It sounds like it got reset to "All"
If you have a lot of windows open, or if you're using a lot of memory, or for reasons I don't understand, SW sometimes has trouble selecting a window. Sometimes you can close down the windows you don't need and get down to a number where SW can get it straight again.
